A slow feeder mat with a sculpted interior of suns, stars, clouds and rolling waves, designed to make the meal last. Functionally, it’s a lick mat and slow feeder combined, with raised edges that keep food contained through both. The Celestial Puzzle Piece uses varied relief depths to keep the dog moving across the surface, nose down and fully occupied. Suction cups hold it firmly in place throughout. Connects to other pieces in the range to build a larger mat.
Where the Petal Puzzle Piece works through repetition and density, the Celestial works through variety. The illustrated surface, with its sun, scattered stars, cloud formations, and wave ridges, creates pockets of different depths and shapes. The dog has to adjust their approach as they move across the mat, and that variation is the point.
Sniffing and problem-solving are natural self-regulating behaviours for dogs. A meal eaten this way is genuinely tiring in the best sense, the nose has been working, the brain has been engaged, and the dog finishes the meal more settled than they started.
